Bargain: AOC 42-inch 1080p LCD for $799 at Costco

AOC L42H861 HDTV available at Costco

Costco has the AOC L42H861 42-inch 1080p LCD HDTV for sale at $799 (original price: $1,000) while supplies last. PC World has a review of the AOC L42H761, which is essentially the same television. The Costco version, the L42H861, has a much better looking television stand (very Sumsung-ish). Prices are getting pretty low for large LCDs, it will be interesting to see what kind of deals there will be on Black Friday 2008.

*EXPIRED* Bargain: Magnavox Blu-ray Player for $198 (sort of) at Walmart.com

Magnavox NB500MG9

*Update: Deal has expired*

Walmart.com has a deal with all its Blu-ray players, including the Playstation 3. You purchase a Blu-ray player at full price, and you get a $100 gift certificate that can only be used online at Walmart.com. How is this $100 off the price of a Blu-ray player? Well, if  you’re going to buy $100 of something in the near future and it’s available on Walmart.com, it’s the same as saving $100 on $300 spent, right? Ok, it’s more like getting $400 worth of stuff for $300.

The Magnavox NB500MG9 is most notable because it’s the cheapest Blu-ray player at a starting price of $298. It has 1080p output but uses the Blu-ray Profile 1.1.
